We're on the road! After signing off all our responsibilities we've done it.
We got as far as Beaconsfield before realising we hadn't packed any coats so we did a u-turn which cost us an hour, but time pressures are now something in the past. We don't have to watch the clock any more unless we choose to.
At the moment we're staying on a site in Kent near Canterbury to sort ourselves out and get the car MOT'd. It's the first time for 30 years since we've been here and we would certainly recommend it as a holiday destination.
We're 800 yards from a pub called the Unicorn which just happens to be holding a beer festival over the Bank Holiday Weekend - we might just pop along! They've also taught us a brand new sport which we'd never heard of before - "Bat & Trap" - apparently it dates back to the 15th century and is reckoned by some to be a forerunner to modern-day cricket. We went along to watch the practice last Thursday and ended up taking part and being selected to play for them in their first match next Tuesday! We'll let you know how we got on.
